Wasim Khan has watched his father, Mr Khan, build a dry cleaning business since he opened in 1990 on Old Brompton Road. In his 25 years of working closely with his dad’s business, Wasim watched his Dad’s business, Chelsea Dry Cleaners grow from one store to three stores around London, a factory and spotted a niche for online dry cleaning for busy people. Mr Khan is truly an inspiration for his young entrepreneur son to create Opium Dry Cleaners. 

Wasim studied Account & Finance at the University Of Essex, Colchester, once he graduated he pursued to bridge the gap in dry cleaning businesses and optimise a great opportunity to make dry cleaning convenient for busy Londoners. Wasim identified that there was a demand for an ‘Uber’ style dry cleaner and fresh out of university, this is exactly what he did.
